Sweekrutha Shankar is a founder and Partner at Shankar Ninan & Co. LLP where she leads the robust immigration law practice and a team of paraprofessionals.
Ms. Shankar assists companies of all sizes – across a diverse cross-section of industries, including finance, pharmaceutical, IT, and retail – seeking to hire foreign professionals and skilled workers to maximize their competitiveness, or to transfer personnel to company branches in the United States. For these companies, Ms. Shankar obtains H1Bs, TN, L, E-3, O-1, P-3, R-1 visas, green cards, and naturalization, among other visa types. She also advises clients in U.S. EB-5 investor visa applications.
Of note, she manages a firm that processes 850+ H1b petitions per annum, including transfer and lottery cases. Ms. Shankar had a passion for Immigration and Nationality laws at a young age. Swee began working as a document clerk in high school, which fueled her ambitions to become an immigration law attorney. Before founding Shankar Ninan & Co., she was a paralegal, Law Clerk, and an associate at Simin H. Syed, P.C.
Ms. Shankar is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the South Asian Bar Association of New York.
